Student Trip to Costa Rica in 2016!

In July 2016, students will have an opportunity to travel to Costa Rica for a 10 day excursion throughout this beautiful country. Students will be presented with opportunities to see incredible wildlife and natural habitats along with opportunities to learn about a new culture, take a zip line excursion through the jungle, swim on some of the most exquisite beaches, and participate in an authentic folklore evening.

SUMMER MATH PRACTICE!

At Patterson & Northwestern Primary Schools, students have used XtraMath, an online math practice program to help become proficient with math facts.  GOOD NEWS! XtraMath continues to be available through the summer for home use!

This program as proven to be effective for practicing math facts as it moves at your child's pace.  With regular use, XtraMath can help your student maintain and improve their math fact recall over the summer break and avoid regression.

XtraMath is available to all students who need practice with addition, subtraction, multiplication & division.

Patterson and Northwestern students should use their current login information to access their accounts.  New users may create a login account.

Summer Meals Program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Families can use any of the following methods to locate sites that serve free meals to children during the summer:

Beaver County Chorus
17 students from Blackhawk participated in Beaver County Chorus on October 20-21. They are among students from 13 county schools.

Graduation Projects

Attention Seniors:
 
Your graduation project is due on Friday October 3rd.  The first graduation project mentoring session will be September 12th.  This will be the only meeting prior to the due date for the project, so please be sure to bring all materials that you need to review with your mentor on September 12th.
 
Graduation Project Help Sessions will be held after school on the following dates in the library. 
September 8, September 15, September 22, & September 29.  All sessions will begin at 2:30 and end at 3:30.
