BHS PPO Holiday Spirit Sale
Just in time for the holidays, the Blackhawk High School PPO is holding a Spirit Sale.  We're offering a range of quality items for the Blackhawk Cougars.  All orders and payments must be received by the end of the school day on Monday, November 24 - no exceptions.  Items are to be delivered the week of December 15 to students during homeroom unless you'd like to pick them up at the school office.  All profits from the sale will be used for students.

Blackhawk High School Lip Sync Battles


Teachers and students battled in a series of lip sync battles for the ages!
Honors Chorus
It was announced by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association that Leah Pfister, Kacie Rumbaugh, and Noelle Marousis from Blackhawk High School have been selected to perform in the District 5 Honors Chorus Festival to be held on October 30, 31, and November 1, 2014. This year’s festival will include 96 of the best high school musicians from 50 school districts. The conductor for the program will be Dr. Ryan Beeker, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the accompanist for the festival choir is Bryan Helsel, choral director from Butler Senior High School. The festival is directed by Dr. Samuel Barbara, Director of Choral Activities at Westminster College. A public concert will be presented on Saturday, November 1 beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Orr Auditorium on the Westminster College Campus in New Wilmington. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $3.

Congratulations to Noelle Marousis, Kacie Rumbaugh and Leah Pfister on their performance at PMEA Honors Chorus at Westminster College on Saturday, November 1. 
Beaver County Chorus
17 students from Blackhawk participated in Beaver County Chorus on October 20-21. They are among students from 13 county schools.

Graduation Projects

Attention Seniors:
 
Your graduation project is due on Friday October 3rd.  The first graduation project mentoring session will be September 12th.  This will be the only meeting prior to the due date for the project, so please be sure to bring all materials that you need to review with your mentor on September 12th.
 
Graduation Project Help Sessions will be held after school on the following dates in the library. 
September 8, September 15, September 22, & September 29.  All sessions will begin at 2:30 and end at 3:30.
